Suspension Notice
Use the Suspension notice to record your employee’s performance and use this form to help the employee overcome their short falls. Every restaurant suspends or terminates employees for various reasons. In today’s times you need documentation to prove why the suspension notice action or termination was needed. If you suspended an employee then terminating that employee, most likely that employees will file an unemployment claim against your company.
Having documentation will strengthen your case, especially if the claim was a valid claim. Remember the burden of proof is up to the employer to prove why the employee was suspended then terminated. Also keep in mind this documentation may be helpful during a lawsuit. Even if the employee is no longer employed at your company, retain the employee’s file and all documentation for as long as your restaurant or bar is in business. Protect your company and reputation.
